The elemental forces of nature collide with civilization. A glass panel, what sometimes rejects light and sometimes lets it through, that reflects, shines, embeds itself almost invisibly or at least stands out.

Fragile bubbles, a breeze, nearly nothing. They are blown as thinly as possible from a small amount of glass. They reflect and still stand out in a contrasting way.

A Place To Be

Installation, glass panel / 60 x 110 x 5 cm, tree stump, river, ca. 600 x 400 x 300 cm

Installation,
glass panel / 60 x 110 x 5 cm, tree stump, river,
ca. 600 x 400 x 300 cm                                                                                                                                                                           .

There is a orange glass panel underwater installed. The point of view for the visitor is a stump cut to a rectangle and colored orange at the riverside. On the face of it you see nothing. You have to wait for the light and search for the angle to see the orange glass panel appearing under the water surface. A hidden sculpture in the nature. Like many things in the Bavarian Forest.

A whiff of glass.

A glimmer, disappearing and fluffing up at the same time. Every part of the very thin blown glassfoil reflects and create a infinite deepness and sublimeness.

Louise Lang’s multipart glass work shows a very unusual way of dealing with the material glass and an exceptional finesse. The actual vessels are transformed by the screen print but they keep their three-dimensional appearance due to the relief like surface of the glass plates. Light and viewpoint lend the vessel shapes on the dark surface of the plates a mysterious, poetic and fragile character.

Temperature differences provoke tension within the glass and this creates structures which I try to capture. Trying to create thes cracks in the glass requires constant observing of the material and it's a perpetual balance between the broken glass and a glass that is in one piece.
